Clinical Supervision, Consultation & Training

Supporting thoughtful, effective, and ethical clinical work.

Good clinical work requires more than knowing a particular treatment model. It involves understanding the person in front of you, developing a thoughtful case conceptualization, making sound clinical decisions, and knowing how to adapt evidence-based interventions to meet individual needs.

My approach is grounded primarily in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), while drawing on a process-based perspective that recognizes the value of integrating evidence-based tools from a range of therapeutic approaches. I enjoy helping clinicians think through complex cases, strengthen their clinical reasoning, and develop a treatment approach that is responsive to the needs and goals of the people they serve.

I offer clinical supervision, consultation for practicing professionals, and training for students and professionals across mental health disciplines.

Clinical Supervision for Psychology Postdoctoral Fellows

I provide clinical supervision for psychology postdoctoral fellows, with an emphasis on developing strong clinical foundations, thoughtful case conceptualization, and confidence in clinical decision-making.

Supervision may include:

  • Clinical case conceptualization and treatment planning
  • Applying evidence-based interventions across a range of presenting concerns
  • Developing clinical skills and integrating treatment approaches
  • Ethical practice and professional judgment
  • Building confidence and flexibility as an independent clinician

Consultation for Practicing Professionals

Clinical work can be complex, and even experienced clinicians benefit from having space to think through challenging cases and clinical decisions.

I offer consultation and, where appropriate, additional supervision for licensed mental health professionals who want to strengthen their clinical work, explore treatment options, or work through a difficult case.

Consultation may include:

  • Working through complex cases and developing or refining case conceptualizations
  • Considering treatment options and selecting evidence-based interventions
  • Integrating tools and strategies from different therapeutic approaches
  • Thinking through clinical challenges, treatment barriers, and questions about progress
  • Reflecting on clinical reasoning, decision-making, and ethical considerations

My primary clinical lens is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but I value a process-based approach to treatment. Drawing on work by Hayes and Hofmann, I appreciate the importance of understanding the processes underlying a person’s difficulties and selecting evidence-based strategies from different approaches based on the individual’s needs, rather than relying rigidly on a single treatment model.

Training & Professional Development

I also enjoy supporting the development of future and current mental health professionals through training and educational opportunities.

I am available to provide trainings for graduate students and trainees in mental health disciplines, psychology and psychiatry residents, nurse practitioners, and other mental health professionals.

Potential topics include:

  • Clinical case conceptualization and treatment planning
  • Evidence-based treatment approaches
  • CBT and process-based approaches to clinical practice
  • Integrating interventions across therapeutic models
  • Clinical decision-making and working with complex presentations

Training can be tailored to the needs of a particular program, group, or organization.

My Approach

I believe good clinical work requires both a strong foundation in evidence and the flexibility to respond to the person in front of you. I approach supervision and consultation collaboratively, creating space to ask questions, consider different perspectives, and think critically about clinical decisions.

My goal isn’t to prescribe one right way to approach every case. It’s to help clinicians build the knowledge, skills, and judgment to make thoughtful decisions and provide effective, individualized care.
